Testosterone Panel
At-home testosterone test
This advanced testosterone test goes deeper than standard checks, measuring total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, estrogen, and albumin.
Whether you’re enhancing training, addressing low energy, or monitoring changes with age, this at-home test delivers physician-grade accuracy.
This panel measures total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin), estradiol, and albumin.
Total testosterone measures all testosterone in the blood. Free testosterone — just 1–3% of total — is the biologically active fraction. SHBG binds testosterone and makes it unavailable. Testing all three together is the only way to know how much testosterone your body can actually use. Estradiol is included because it rises when testosterone is converted via aromatization.
This advanced testosterone test goes deeper than standard checks, measuring total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, estrogen, and albumin. Whether you're enhancing training, addressing low energy, or monitoring changes with age, this at-home testing kit will get you closer to your goals.

Trend tracking
- You experience low energy, reduced libido, mood changes, or difficulty building muscle (Bhasin S et al., NEJM 2010 — these are established clinical symptoms of testosterone deficiency (hypogonadism).)
- You are over 35 and want to understand how your testosterone levels compare to healthy ranges (Harman SM et al., J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2001 — total and free testosterone decline progressively after age 30 in men.)
- You are currently on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and need to monitor your levels (Endocrine Society TRT Guidelines 2018 — testosterone, hematocrit, and estradiol monitoring every 3–6 months is recommended during TRT.)
- You have been told your testosterone is “normal” but still feel symptoms — you may have low free testosterone despite normal total levels (Vermeulen A et al., J Clin Endocrinol Metab 1999 — SHBG levels significantly affect free testosterone; total T alone can be misleading.)
- You are an athlete optimizing performance and recovery (Kraemer WJ & Ratamess NA, Med Sci Sports Exerc 2005 — testosterone is a primary anabolic driver for muscle adaptation and recovery.)
- You want to understand how SHBG is affecting your bioavailable testosterone (Rosner W et al., J Clin Endocrinol Metab 2007 — SHBG-bound testosterone is hormonally inactive; free and albumin-bound fractions determine bioavailability.)

Frequently Asked Questions
What's included, how to collect, when you'll see results, and how to use them.
What does this panel measure?
Total and, where specified, free/bioavailable testosterone with SHBG (± albumin index) to evaluate androgen status accurately and trend levels over time for lifestyle or clinician‑guided programs.
How is this different from traditional testing?
Boomerang Kits deliver clinical‑grade accuracy with unmatched convenience: one at‑home collection, CLIA‑certified lab analysis, and secure app‑based results. No waiting rooms, no hidden telehealth upsells — just clear, trusted data.
Who benefits most from this panel?
Men monitoring energy, drive, and body composition — including those on physician‑guided testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
Can I use this to monitor TRT?
Yes. Many users employ this panel for longitudinal tracking alongside clinician‑guided therapy, enabling data‑driven dose adjustments and safety monitoring.
Is this a diagnostic test?
No. This is a laboratory screening panel intended for education and wellness. Boomerang Laboratories does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider for medical decisions.
